She was then accepted into the Veterinary program at the University of Illinois graduating in 2002 and becoming an associate veterinarian at Flora Veterinary Clinic. She was hired on with Mike at the Fairmont Park Racetrack as the first female state veterinarian until she and Mike started up the Douglas Veterinary Clinic in 2006.

At Douglas Veterinary Clinic, we emphasize preventative veterinary care. Animals that receive a yearly wellness exam, vaccinations and preventative medications live a longer, healthier life than those that do not. With physical exams, urine analysis and blood tests, we can recognize issues before they are life threatening for your pet. Yearly exams, vaccinations, and preventative heartworm and flea and tick products help your pet live longer. As your pet ages we offer geriatric exams, bloodwork, teeth cleaning, and extractions. For horses, yearly floating of teeth, digital x-rays, preventative vaccinations and deworming as well as nutrition programs can keep them going well into their 20's and 30's.
We understand pets play an important role in their human's health and mental well being. Therefore, we want to return the favor by preserving your pet's health as long as possible! Let us help you.
Prescription diets can alleviate medical issues such as food allergy, kidney disease, or gastrointestinal disease. Hills and Royal Canin are the two brands we carry and they work.
Douglas Veterinary Clinic is your most preferred animal care center in Salem, IL. We offer a wide range of veterinary services such as digital x-rays, vaccinations, surgeries, dentistry, and more for small and large animals.
